Family Resemblance

My memory verse for this week:

"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil." Luke 6:35

There is no better family to which I can belong than the family of the one who is the Highest. There is no greater reward than the reward that "the Highest" will give. What an amazing thought: Living like this demonstrates that I am a child of the Highest! There is no higher privilege! I want to bear the family resemblance of my heavenly Father.

Lord, thank you for adopting me into your family. Help me to love my enemies, to do good, and to lend, hoping for nothing again. Help me to be kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Lord, you are working in me both to will and to do these things. Now help me to work them out with fear and trembling. Thank you Father. Amen.
